Roland Smidt – Owner
roland-picRoland Smidt has been in the catering and entertainment management business for more than 26 years. He established the very successful Town and Country Cuisine, and ran it for more than 15 years. The business was sold as a profitable concern in 2008.

In 2010, due to continued demand for top-quality catering in South Africa and being inundated with requests, Roland and his Executive Chef from Town and Country Cuisine, Vincent Verrydt, set up The Culinary Company. The venture is proving highly successful.

Roland's work experience extends to large functions, club management, suite catering, and hotel management, and his relationships with clients is second to none.

Vincent Verrydt - Owner

vincent Vincent is a well-known and highly respected chef and has built a successful and celebrated career that encompasses the finest quality food and attention to detail.

Vincent's training encompasses the Three Cities Hotel School and the American Hotel & Motel School (via correspondence). He achieved top honours as the Food & Beverage Student of the year in conjunction with The Southern Suns Group.

Vincent has alot of international experience (Belgium and London) and has worked in many highly regarded South African establishments. But it wasn't until  2002, when Vincent wanted to focus solely on food and took up a position as Head Chef at Town & Country Cuisine, with Roland Smidt. This pairing with Roland Smidt was to be a formidable union that has led to Vincent’s current position. Today, he is Executive Chef and partner in The Culinary Co.

Liesa Hickling – Financial & HR Manager 

Liesa2 Liesa has worked with Roland and Vincent since 1999 and is an integral member of the CEC team.

Her expert knowledge in finance has assisted in strategic decisions, costings, capital re-structure and empowerment.  Liesa is now heavily involved in all financial decisions.
